Authentication, roles & application rights

A platform brings together users with different responsibilities. Dtouch prepares the management of accounts, sessions and rights in applications and their connections.

Layout: Identities, roles and access.
Scheme of principle: user account — connection and identity; roles and authorizations — actions allowed by function; access to data — scope and verification.

Define who can see and act

We identify the roles, the data concerned and the operations necessary for each. The design distinguishes between consultation, modification, validation and administration functions.

This analysis is based on uses: internal teams, customers, partners or field workers. The rules must remain understandable when several people share the same file.

Linking sessions to applications

The Rey’actif environment included OAuth session management and SMS security codes. Business applications provide other authentication and connection contexts.

The integration work specifies how the user is recognized, what information accompanies their session and how the tools find the right context.

Control processing operations

Rights must be taken into account in actions and exchanges, beyond the presence of a button on the screen. Access scenarios are checked with the defined roles.

Disabled accounts, changes in responsibility and declined transactions are some of the cases to be reviewed. Feedback should help the user understand the situation without exposing inappropriate information.

Support account management

Creating, modifying and removing access requires clear organization. Those responsible for administration must know the consequences of their choices.

Documenting roles and dependencies between applications facilitates developments. The checks are adapted to the context and scope of the solution.
