Prepare a shop with the project designer

The installation of PrestaShop and its availability enabled a graphic designer to continue preparing the content of a store. A specific example of cooperation between technique and presentation.

Technical provision by Patrice within the framework of Alltech · April 2020

Provide a working environment for the project

A store in preparation needs a base that can be used to host content. Patrice install PrestaShop and transmits the environment to the graphic designer who works on the presentation. The grip is checked with it: after adjusting the connection information, it confirms that it can access the installation.

Link installation to expected content

The graphic designer can then continue her work. An element remains to be added to the home page, and a product sheet must still be finalized by the client before its integration. These elements give the technical exchange a concrete context: the installation must allow other contributors to move forward with the resources at their disposal.

Coordinate next steps

The question of switching to HTTPS is also addressed in this preparation phase. Its implementation is planned after the propagation of the domain. This step remains separate from the confirmation of handling of PrestaShop. The result presented here is the provision of the environment and its use by the graphic designer.

A clear scope for each contribution

This historic intervention by Patrice within the Alltech framework illustrates a simple cooperation: prepare the technical base and dialogue with the person responsible for the content and presentation. The graphic design belongs to the project graphic designer. Dtouch can now extend this logic in an e-commerce project, by combining installation, integration and coordination according to the needs of the store.

Understand and prepare

Advance technique and content at the same pace.

In April 2020, Patrice is preparing the PrestaShop installation as part of Alltech. The graphic designer can then take charge of this environment and continue the presentation work with the expected content.

Getting started is a verifiable step

The graphic designer's confirmation of access marks the transition between technical preparation and her contribution work. This step must be simple to recognize: the right person joins the right environment with the useful rights. In a current project, we are specifying the roles and elements to be tested during this transmission. The first connection can also be used to locate topics, templates and resources needed to begin work.

Contents have their own dependencies

A product sheet is still awaiting completion by the originator, while an item must be added on the reception. These topics give a concrete order to the contributions: get the information, prepare the content, then integrate it and reread it. A table of expected elements may specify the person in charge and the next step. This organisation avoids a ready installation being confused with the end of the presentation or content work.

Prepare together the next validation

The switch to HTTPS is planned after the propagation of the domain in this folder. For a new project, commissioning is prepared with a checklist: access, public addresses, contents and functions involved. The graphic designer checks the presentation, the business manager the information and the technical team the integration. Dtouch may organize these contributions and agreed developments; Cloudlab and Agedis respectively complement the hosting and systems as needed.
